Mladen Dolar holds a Ph.D. in philosophy. In 1992 he became assistant professor of German classical philosophy and in 1996 associate professor of philosophy and theoretical psychoanalysis. Until 2002 he taught philosophy at the University of Ljubljana where he now works as a senior research fellow. His scientific research work centres on German classical philosophy, structuralism, theoretical psychoanalysis and philosophy of music. He is a member of the editorial boards of the magazine Problemi and of the book collection Analecta. He is also one of the founders of the Society of Theoretical Psychoanalysis and of the Society for Cultural Studies.
